Catalogue Specifics:
Andorra (French), France, Monaco.
Description:
The first issue of the 2024 Europe stamp from Monaco is turning into a modern rarity. The inscription “Europa” was forgotten when the stamp was initially designed. Approximately 3,000 copies found their way into collectors’ hands before sales were stopped and a corrected version was printed. Here, it pays off to take a look at your collection since the withdrawn stamp is now worth 40 times its face value.
Collectors of French novelties may look forward to 355 new main numbers in their collection area. These are mainly high-quality intaglio stamps, which are particularly sought after by philatelists. In order to make it easier to work with issues that bear identical images, we have added numerous cross-references to the earlier motifs. Moreover, stamps with these reissued motifs may also increase in value.
We were also able to complement issue dates and numbers of stamps issued by France in the 1920s and 1930s with the latest research results. Fresh explanatory texts have been added to “Marshal Pétain” stamps from 1942 that are difficult to distinguish. And finally, we have updated the motif descriptions for “Flora” postage stamps from France and Andorra.
This volume contains all novelties featured in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 3/2025.
