New Orleans Stamp & Philatelic Supply Shop (NOLA Stamp Shop) rose out of the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina. As a result of the August 29, 2005 storm, 80 percent of the City of New Orleans flooded and the storm waters took with it the only true stamp and philatelic supply store in the area. The store was operated by a wonderful gentleman, who like many others in the city, lost his business to the storm and chose to retire rather than to rebuild. As a lifelong stamp collector, I no longer had access to the stamps and philatelic supplies I wanted/needed. Because my job as an archeologist had me traveling across the country, I was able to purchase the stamps or supplies I sometimes required, but it was on a catch as catch can basis.
In 2007, New Orleans Stamp & Philatelic Supply Shop was born, first operating on the web as an ebay store - NOLA Stamp Shop. In 2010 our web store www.nolastampshop.com was born. The goal of NOLA Stamp Shop is to provide each of our customers with quality philatelic supplies, competitive prices and superior service. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and special orders are welcome. If you can’t find something let us know, perhaps we can track it down for you.
We offer a variety of products in our web store, but if you need something we do not stock, we will be happy to order it for you. Feedback on the store and the items we stock also is welcomed. If there are particular items you feel we should be carrying in our web store, perhaps additional philatelic reference books, supplies, or maybe a particular line of albums, please let us know and we will do our best to expand our inventory to accommodate your needs.
For example, we are in the process of adding our stamp holdings to our web store. All of our stamps are offered below current Scott or Brookman catalogue prices. While stock stamp scans are used to depict our offerings, all stamps are guaranteed to be fine to very fine or better in grade. Used stamps also are guaranteed to meet with your satisfaction.
If for any reason you are not happy with your NOLA Stamp Shop purchase, please return the stamps or products to the store for a complete refund (see Store Policies). While NOLA Stamp Shop is pleased to provide shipping to our international customers, shipping tables have not been set up for each country scattered across the globe. To make sure that each of our global customers receives the best shipping price possible, we simply ask that you contact us at shippingquestions@nolastampshop.com. By contacting us directly, NOLA Stamp Shop can provide you with the best possible international shipping rate. Often times we can ship using United States Postal Service small, medium or large flat rate shipping boxes to save our international customers money. The prices calculated for international shipping often are worst case examples; however, sometimes the quotes are right on the money. In an effort to prevent confusion over international shipping quotes and to guarantee that our international customers receive the best possible shipping rates, we ask that you simply contact us by email prior to placing your order.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in our company and for visiting www.nolastampshop.com. We look forward to providing you with quality stamps and philatelic supplies, as well as superior service, for many years to come.
